2 people died after being swept by Florida currents: What you need to know

Two people, including a 3-year-old child, died on Friday in Florida. A third person, who tried to save them is still missing after being swept away by currents. The incident happened at Apollo beach, about 17 miles from Tampa.
The police received the 911 call at around 7.30 pm about two people being swept away by the currents.
The 911 caller’s boyfriend jumped into the water to save them, however, was himself swept away too.
The adult man with the child was recovered later deceased, and the boy was rushed to hospital where he died.
The person who jumped in the water has been identified as 27-year-old Kristoff Murray. The police are calling him a hero for trying to save other people’s lives with our caring for his own.
The search and rescue teams are still trying to search for Murray, however, the currents are too strong.
