3 killed 8 injured in shooting at Oxford High School: what you need to know

The three teens were gunned down by a fellow student at Michigan High school, identified Tuesday night. The gunman's father purchased the weapon just four days before the rampage.


Among the victims in the horrific shooting was Tate Myre, a 16-year old "standout" football player at Oxford High School who died from his wounds on the way to the hospital in the back of a patrol car.


The two other victims were Hana St. Juliana, 14 and Madisyn Baldwin, 17, according to the Oakland County Sheriff's office.


The 15-year old shooter opened fire with a semi-automatic handgun and also wounded eight other people in school. He was arrested from the scene, holding the weapon. one of the injured is a teacher and the rest are students.


The incident came to light when the police received a 911 call at 12.51 p.m. for an active shooter situation. The police said that the suspect was taken into custody within about 5 minutes of the call.


Chilling visuals from the shooting incident showed students running for cover and classroom doors barricaded with chairs as the suspect walked through the halls with a semi-automatic handgun.
