Afghanistan is almost in control of the Taliban now: President Ashraf Ghani flees Afghanistan
Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani is set to hand over the power to former Afghan interior minister Ali Ahmad Jalali, who is likely to head the transitional government in the country, Reuters has reported.
The negotiations are currently underway at the Afghan Presidential Palace ARG to transfer power to the Taliban.
The Taliban forces were instructed to stand at the gates of Kabul, not to try to enter the city, although some residents reported insurgents had peacefully entered some outer suburbs.
Afghan interior minister Abdul Sattar stated that there would be a peaceful transfer of power to a transitional government. The Afghan people should not worry. There will be no attack on the city.
