Are Grammys now irrelevant?: What you need to know
With 2021 Grammy nominations snubbing artists of color again, the question now arises are the Grammy awards even relevant now? Several artists of color slammed The Recording Academy for being so ignorant and shutting them out from the nominations. Canadian R&B star The Weeknd wrote on Twitter, “The Grammys remain corrupt. You owe me, my fans and the industry transparency…”. Only 10 Black artists have won the Album of the year Grammy in the award’s 62 years history. The Grammys did not release any statement on the uproar that they have caused yet again.
