Artificial Intelligence to detect COVID-19: What you need to know

Scientists at London Health Research Institute have developed a technique of using Artificial Intelligence for detecting the COVID-19 virus. Here is everything you need to know:
The AI uses the technique of identifying the patterns in the lungs, which humans cannot, to identify the presence of the virus.
The technology uses a neural network that trains the AI model based on many features and datasets.
For the technology developed in London, scientists used more than 100,000 ultrasound lungs scan from patients who had COVID-19.
“The neural network was able to identify the unique characteristics among different scans, and exceed human-level diagnostic specificity,” said Dr. Robert Arntfield, Lawson researcher and medical director of the London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC) critical care trauma center.
Dr. Arntfield has been granted permission to use this technology to identify other conditions apart from COVID-19.
