BREAKING: Britney Spears' Father Suspended From Conservatorship

After 13 years, James P. Spears has been removed as a conservator of Britney Spears estate, a Los Angeles judge has ruled. On Wednesday, Judge Brenda Penny granted a petition by the singer’s new lawyer.
The judge agreed with lawyer Mathew S. Rosengart, that suspending Mr. Spears was in the singer’s best interest. “The current situation is not tenable,” Judge Penny said. California accountant, John Zabel, has been named as a temporary conservator for Britney’s finances and her $60 million estates.
This conservatorship was established in 2008, after James Spears sought control over his pop star daughter’s life and business, citing her mental health struggles and substance abuse. Now, the 69-year-old was ordered to turn over the relevant documents to John Zabel.
The 39-year-old pop star was recently in the news due to the court hearings regarding her conservatorship. She said to the court, back in June, that this arrangement “was toxic” and it felt like abuse.
James Spears himself had filed a petition to end the conservatorship, after seeking it in 2008.
Britney Spears said that due to her conservatorship, she was not allowed to marry and have kids. She also said that she will not perform or work until this conservatorship is removed. She recently got engaged to her long-time boyfriend Sam Asghari.
