A Saudi man, Khaled Aedh Al-Otaibi, suspected of involvement in the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi was arrested at Charles-de-Gaulle airport on Tuesday, according to reports by French media. He was about to board a flight to Riyadh.

The suspect is one of the 26 suspects wanted by the Turkish over the killing of Jamal Khashoggi. The 33-year-old suspect was traveling under his own name and is currently being held in judicial detention.

Jamal Khashoggi, a prominent critic of the government in Riyadh, was murdered at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul in October 2018. There were different stories by the Saudi and Turkish governments regarding his murder. Saudi Arabia said that he was killed in a "rogue operation" by a team of agents. But Turkish officials said the agents acted on orders from the highest levels of the Saudi government.

This arrest comes just days after the French president, Emmanuel Macron, met Mohammed bin Salman in Saudi Arabia
