BREAKING: US Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer to retire

Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer is planning to retire soon, giving President Joe Biden a chance to nominate someone to Supreme Court.

Stephen Breyer is 83 years old and is a consistent liberal vote on the Supreme Court. He is expected to complete his current term and make an announcement once the replacement is confirmed.

Breyer's retirement will give Joe Biden his first pick for Supreme Court. Although this will not change the ratio of republican and democrat nominations, Biden’s pick will certainly be a liberal judge. The Supreme Court currently has six conservative justices appointed by Republican presidents, and three liberals appointed by Democrats.

There have been multiple names that are doing the rounds as Biden’s pick. Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson, 51and Justice Leondra Kruger, 45, are two of them.

President Joe Biden’s aids have previously said that they will focus on more diverse candidates and that they are prepared to break from the norm and consider a candidate whose legal experiences have been underrepresented on the federal bench.
