Britney Spears accuses father of conservatorship abuse: What you need to know

• Today at her next conservatorship hearing in Los Angeles County, a sobbing Britney Spears accused her father of conservatorship abuse. This hearing comes after her explosive revelations in her last hearing last month, where she detailed out the restrictions put on her by her father.

• Last month she said that she was forced to take lithium and was put on birth control pills by her father. Her father has been in control of her $60 million estate since court put him in-charge back in 2008. Britney’s lawyer filed a case in court to remove her father as her conservator this August.

• While in court today, Britney said, “I thought they were trying to kill me. If this is not abuse, I don’t know what is.” She further asked the judge to formally charge her father with conservatorship abuse, “I want to press charges against my father today. I want an investigation into my dad”.

• Los Angeles Superior court judge today also granted Britney permission to hire her own lawyer to represent her in her ongoing conservatorship battle.
