China behind Mumbai Blackout?: What you need to know
On March 1st, an Indian official from the state of Maharashtra confirmed that the power outage that’s happened in Mumbai last year in October could have been due to a malware attack by China. Mumbai, the economic capital of India has long prided itself on providing 24x7 power to its residents, however, last year the city faced a sudden power outage for several hours which hampered the functioning of hospitals, trains, and the National Stock Exchange. The energy minister of the state Mr. Nitin Raut confirmed that the initial report by NYT might be accurate and they are scheduled to receive the complete investigation report by Cyber Department soon.
