Destruction continues in Israel and Gaza: What you need to know

As the unrest continues in the Gaza Strip, the world is watching the destruction unfold. The attacks continue over the weekend killing and injuring many innocent people on BOTH sides. Here is everything we know about the situation:
Since Monday, Hamas, a Palestinian Sunni-Islamic fundamentalist organization, has fired multiple missiles into Israel.
In Gaza, at least 140 people have been killed and many injured. The fatalities include more than 40 children and 23 women. 8 people have died in Israel.
On Sunday, the Gaza tower, which housed the offices of AP and Al Jazeera was destroyed by the rocket attack conducted by Israel. Reporters were working in the building, who narrowly escaped the attack.
The disruption began in Jerusalem over the past week and now has spread across the region.
US President Joe Biden has said that Hamas ‘must cease’ firing rockets into Israel. He had telephonic conversations with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas.
US envoy Hady Amr has arrived in Tel Aviv to have a diplomatic conversation with both sides to de-escalate the situation.
The Israeli forces have been ordered to remain under high alert as there are reports of the situation escalating even further.
