Dr. Seuss tops Amazon books chart: What you need to know

This week Dr. Seuss enterprises announced that they will be pulling six books off the shelf after a review found out that these books had a racist undertone. They said that these books portray Asian and African people in a racist manner. However, after the announcement, the remaining Dr. Seuss books are topping the US Amazon books chart. The top 4 books in the top 10 are from Dr. Seuss: “The Cat in the Hat,” “Oh, the Places You’ll Go!”, “One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish,” and “Green Eggs and Ham”. According to the statement released by the firm, the decision to pull off certain books was taken last year after an internal review. In Canada, three of the top 20 books on the chart are by Dr. Seuss. The books that are pulled by the enterprise are: “On Beyond Zebra!,” “Scrambled Eggs Super!,” “And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street,”, “If I Ran the Zoo,”, “McElligot’s Pool,” and “The Cat’s Quizzer.”
