French President Emmanuel Macron was slapped by a man in the crowd during a tour of the south of the country.
The video of this incident is going viral on social media in which the President is standing surrounded by people and a man shakes hands with him and slaps him.
Immediately after the incident, the security personnel grabbed the man and dragged him away.
Macron is on a tour of the drone region of southeast France, during which he met the hotel owners and students to discuss the returning of life after Covid-19.
French media have confirmed that two people involved in this crime have been arrested.
The French Prime Minister has called the incident an insult to democracy.
