According to Iranian media, Explosions and fires were reported at the Shahid Tondgooyan petrochemical plant. Two firefighters who were combatting fires were gravely injured and two firetrucks were completely destroyed after catching fire in the Shokuhieh Industrial town in the Qom Province of Iran on Sunday.

A number of explosions were reported amid the fire. A spokesperson for the fire department told Fars that the fire had been prevented from reaching nearby tanks which would have caused even worse explosions had they caught fire.

Last year, a series of similar explosions and fires hit industrial areas in different regions in Iran, including a number of petrochemical plants. Iranian officials framed all of these incidents as accidents, however, foreign intel reports confirmed that at least some of the incidents involve foul nuclear play.
