India reports 70,421 coronavirus cases: What you need to know

  1. India, on Monday, reported 70,421 coronavirus cases in the last twenty-four hours. This is the lowest count since March 31st.

  2. The data was released by the Indian Health Ministry. This is a huge thing considering the country was reporting 400k plus cases a day just a few weeks ago.

  3. The death toll was 3,921 in the last twenty-four hours. The total fatalities so far stand at 374,305.

  4. So far India has reported 29.51 million total COVID-19 cases.

  5. This comes as the state governments throughout the country are easing the restrictions.
