IOC expels two coaches over Belarus player issue: What you need to know

Two Belarus team coaches have been removed from the Olympics as they were trying to send sprinter Krystsina Tsimanouskaya back to their country. The coaches had been asked to leave the Olympic village.

The International Olympic Committee said Friday it has cancelled and removed the credential of Arthur Shimak and Yury Maisevich.

The Belarusian Olympic committee said both men will return to Minsk soon and they reserve the right to appeal against the decision.

Krystsina had criticised the team coaches on social media and is now in Poland with a humanitarian visa.
