Jamsetji Tata top donor in the world: What you need to know

1. On Wednesday, Hurun Indian and Edel-Give Foundation released a list of the world's greatest donors of a century.
2. Jamsetji Tata, the founder of the Tata Group, who is called the father of Indian industry, is the biggest donor of all in the world.
3. Jamsetji Tata started philanthropy in the field of education and health in 1892. His donation is currently worth Rs. 7.60 lakh crore ( $102 billion). Tata is the only Indian in the top 10 major benevolent.
4. The study identifies 50 of the world's top philanthropists. The US tops the list with 39 people, followed by 5 from the UK, 3 from China, and 2 from India.
5. Wipro promoter Azim Premji is the second person from India and is ranked 12th.
6. Top 50 did not include the names of Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk, and Alfred Nobel.
7. The 2nd name on the list is Bill & Melinda Gates and 5th is Warren Buffet.
