Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner Break Up After 4 Years of Marriage
Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner have ended their four-year marriage, with Joe filing for divorce in Miami Dade County, Florida, on September 5, according to online records reviewed by E! News.
According to court documents obtained by Today, Joe cited that "the marriage between the parties is irretrievably broken."
Speculation about their relationship had arisen in early September, with Sophie's representative declining to comment on her personal life at that time. Joe's representative had no immediate statement.
Their separation came after the couple celebrated Joe's 34th birthday together in August. Sophie marked the occasion by sharing a selfie of them wearing green striped pajamas in front of a closet mirror on her Instagram Story, captioned "Happy birthday handsome."
In the same month, Sophie showed her support for Joe and the Jonas Brothers as they began their "Five Albums. One Night. The World Tour" with a concert at Yankee Stadium in New York City. She posted a sweet Instagram photo of her kissing Joe's hand, accompanied by Jonas Brothers lyrics, "long long New York nights."
The Jonas Brothers, including Nick Jonas and Kevin Jonas, are scheduled to continue their tour until June 2024.
Joe, 34, and Sophie, 27, have two daughters, Willa, aged 3, and another daughter, around 13 months, whose name has not been publicly disclosed.
The couple initially married in a small Las Vegas ceremony in May 2019 after dating for two and a half years. They followed this with a larger wedding in France the next month, surrounded by family and friends.
Throughout their relationship, Joe and Sophie chose to keep many aspects of their romance private. As Joe explained in an interview with Mr. Porter in October, he wanted to maintain some things just for himself to be a better person in the end.
