Man kills five at Texas home

Texas police believe that a man, Francisco Oropez, killed five of his neighbors, including an eight-year-old child, after an argument about his semi-automatic weapon practice shooting.
All victims were from Honduras, and two women were found lying on top of two surviving children, who were trying to protect them. The suspect believed to be Mexican and armed, is still on the run.
Investigators think that the victims had asked Oropez, who was drinking, to stop shooting as they were trying to put a baby to sleep, but he refused. Later, he walked down his driveway, topped off his magazine, and started shooting the victims. A total of 10 people were at the property at the time.
The sheriff's office is urging residents to stay at home, even though the shooter has left the county. Firearm incidents are the leading cause of death for children and teenagers in the US, according to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
There have been at least 174 mass shootings in the US so far this year, according to the Gun Violence Archive.
