Appalling footage emerged in Florida on Sunday, where Miami Beach police are seen shooting pepper balls on spring break crowd who have descended don the city in huge numbers. Here is everything we know about the situation:

  1. Miami Beach police shot pepper balls and arrested about a dozen people who were partying on the beach despite the restrictions imposed.

  2. This action came just hours after Miami Beach Mayor Dan Gelber imposed an 8 pm curfew to control the huge crowds on the beach.

  3. Gelber said, "Too many are coming, really, without the intention of following the rules, and the result has been a level of chaos and disorder that is just something more than we can endure”.

  4. Florida has opened its door wide for tourists after a year on restrictions. Republican Governor Ron DeSantis had declared that the state is happy to host tourists.

  5. More than 1000 people have been arrested so far since Feb 3 on Miami Beach in violation of restrictions.

  6. Police said that there have been an instance where rocks and bottles were thrown at police officers in the Miami Beach area.
