Morocco to legalize cannabis: What you need to know

In an effort to further pursue its scientific and economic development plan, the Moroccan government discussed a draft bill to legalize cannabis production across the Rif mountains for medical use. Statistics have shown that, if the bill is passed, this industry will generate more than $15 billion and thousands of job opportunities as well as a framework to monitor weed production and consumption in Morocco. According to the leaked bill's seventh article, Morocco will require cannabis farmers to obtain a license and be a Moroccan national of a legal age who lives in the Rif mountains region.

Morocco's weed industry will focus on manufacturing medical, pharmaceutical, and industrial products and goods and will allow only registered and licensed vendors to market, export, and import these products.
