Nigerian Preacher T B Joshua dead: What you need to know

1. Nigerian Preacher and evangelist T B Joshua has died at the age of 57 on Saturday. The reason for death is still not known.

2. He was the founder of The synagogue, Church of all nations, a Church-run by Emmanuel Television station in Lagos, Nigeria.

3. He gained much fame with his speeches about the prospects, world events, politics, and economy of Africa. But his teachings and speeches were also controversial.

4. He had more than 5 million followers on Facebook.

5. In April YouTube suspended his account due to hate speech after a rights body filed a complaint about his videos showing him conduct prayers to 'cure' gay people.

6. Facebook also removed one page showing a woman being slapped by him while he said he was casting out a 'demonic spirit'.

7. Tributes have been pouring in on social media referring to him as Prophet T B Joshua.
