'Nirbhaya-like cruelty' with a woman in Mumbai, rape accused arrested

A heart-wrenching brutal incident has come to light from Mumbai's Sakinaka area, in which a man raped a woman and inserted a rod in her private part and left her in a bad condition.
Police have arrested one man while they suspect more people could have been involved in the crime.
The incident took place at Khairani Road in the Saki Naka area of Mumbai. The DCP and Additional Commissioner of Police have reached the spot while a further probe is on.
According to Mumbai Police, they received a call in the main control room at 3.30 am about a woman lying unconscious in a pool of blood at Khairani Road in Saki Naka.
"Police reached the spot and rushed her to Rajawadi Hospital in Ghatkopar. Condition of woman is said to be extremely critical," police said.
Police have arrested the main accused and a case has been registered under Section 376 (Punishment for rape) and 307 (Attempt to murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
This incident has reminded the Nirbhaya case that happened in Delhi a few years ago, which still haunts the hearts.
