Roger Federer withdraws from French Open: What you need to know

  • After winning his third-round, Swiss Tennis player, Roger Federer withdrew from French Open today.

  • He has had two knee surgeries over the past year and was seeing French Open as a platform for his comeback. But, he announced his decision to withdraw on Sunday via a statement.

  • He said, “After two knee surgeries and over a year of rehabilitation it’s important that I listen to my body and make sure I don’t push myself too quickly on my road to recovery”.

  • He had previously said, that he is not looking to win French Open, rather he sees it as a platform for his comeback and eventually wants to focus on Wimbledon Tournament this year.

  • He is currently 39 years old, and no one is sure how many more French Open tournaments he will be playing in the future.
