After 5 months in space, 4 astronauts returned to earth on Saturday night via the same SpaceX capsule upon which they launched back in November from Kennedy Space Center. Here is everything you need to know:

  1. The SpaceX Dragon capsule splashed into the Gulf Of Mexico off the coast of Florida just before 3 am.

  2. The space capsule named Resilience made the trip from International Space Station back to earth which took about 6.5 hours.

  3. The astronauts onboard the SpaceX capsule were Shannon Walker, Victor Glover, and Mike Hopkins, along with Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency astronaut Soichi Noguchi.

  4. This was the longest space capsule mission launched from the US taking 167 days to complete.

  5. After this trip, now there are currently 7 astronauts at the ISS, four of which arrived last week on a SpaceX mission.
