Tokyo Olympics 2020: What happened 4th day:What you need to know


Japan's Takanori Nagase won the judo gold medal in the men'81kg by beating Saeid Mollaei of Mongolia in the final. Japanese athletes have now won a total of five gold medals in judo- four for men and one for women.


Bermuda has won a first-ever gold medal in the triathlon.


Alaska, the US state, also won the gold medal in the breaststroke race.


Brazil's Italo Ferreira won the inaugural gold in surfing- the men's competition, beating Japan's Kanoa Igarashi in the final with a score of 15.14 Australian surfer Own Wright won the bronze.


Carissa Moore of the USA won the title of Olympic women's surf champion by beating Bianca Buitendag of South Africa.


Australia's Kaylee McKeown won the women's 100m backstroke gold medal. Canada's Kylie Masse won silver and American Regan Smith took bronze.


Switzerland's Jolanda Neff won gold at the women's cycling mountain bike while teammates Sina Frei and Linda Indergand completed a Swiss hat-trick by taking second and third place in the event.


Weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz made history for the Philippines as she won gold in women's 55kg class by beating China's Liao Qiuyin.
