Trump organization and CFO Allen Weisselberg indicted: What you need to know

1. Reports are coming in that Manhattan grand jury has indicted the Trump organization and its CFO Allen Wesselberg on charges of tax fraud.

2. According to a report by Washington Post, the charges will be sealed until Thursday afternoon and Wesselberg will be surrendering to court Thursday morning.

3. He and the Trump organization is expected to be arraigned in front of a state judge later tomorrow.

4. The charges involve the Trump organization and Weisselberg receiving benefits without properly reporting them on their tax returns. The investigation was initially focused on Trump’s former lawyer Michael Cohen’s payment to porn star Stormy Daniels before the 2016 presidential elections.

5. The investigation was later expanded and the prosecutors started looking at the other benefits the executives of the Trump organization received throughout the years.

6. Former President Donald Trump has not been asked to appear before the judge as of now but the prosecutors are hoping that Weisselberg will give out more information about the former president to get his sentence reduced.
