One of the top designers working at Zara, Vanessa Perilman, has come under fire after she sent inflammatory messages to a Palestinian model.
Qaher Harhash is a Palestinian model who posts pro-Palestinian stuff on his Instagram. However, Perilman sent him derogatory messages responding to the pictures he shared.
"Maybe if your people were educated then they wouldn't blow up the hospitals and schools that Israel helped to pay for in Gaza," said Perilman in one of the messages.
Harsh shared the screenshots of the messages that Perilman sent him on his Instagram story. After that, there was a huge outcry among the public asking Zara to take action against Perilman.
Perilman later sent apologetic messages to Harhash, asking him to stop sharing the messages as she was getting death threats against her children. Since then she has deleted her Instagram account.
Zara issued a statement to CNN saying, "We condemn these comments that do not reflect our core values of respect for one another, and we regret the offence that they have caused”.
