Zelenskyy hinted peace talks with Russia at Jerusalem now:1,300 Ukrainian troops killed till now
Zelenskyy said Ukrainian and Russian negotiating teams had started discussing concrete topics rather than exchanging ultimatums.
In his latest speech, the Ukrainian leader hinted that future peace talks with Russia could take place in Jerusalem. He said the West has so far not been involved enough in the negotiations. But welcomed efforts by Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett to mediate between Ukraine and Russia, and said he had suggested to Bennett holding talks in Jerusalem. He also pointed aut that NATO, saying the alliance has lacked "bravery" in its response to Putin's invasion.
Ukrainian President Zelenskyy has said Russia can only take Kyiv if it "razes it to the ground". The south-eastern city of Volnovakha has been destroyed since the Russian invasion.
He confirmed that around 1,300 Ukrainian troops have been killed since the start of the war, and that on Friday, up to 600 Russian soldiers surrendered.
